This year Education Week (Victoria) is being held from May 17-23. The theme this year is all about Mathematics and celebrating the many rewarding careers and pathways for students that are maths related. This of course includes coding and programming!
To celebrate, the Victorian Department of Education and Training has launched The Great Victorian Coding Challenge.
The challenge encourages students to complete a variety of tasks using the visual programming language Scratch. Scratch is a fantastic language for budding computer scientists and is a great way to introduce young students to computational and algorithmic thinking.
There are lots of resources on the Department’s website to help you get started! To celebrate even more and share in this exciting challenge why not submit a project to Code the Future to get a developer into your classroom for Education Week!
